Your Screen Size, Live
The box above shows the current size of your browser window in pixels. Because this tool runs entirely in your browser, it always knows your exact screen resolution, aspect ratio and device type — check the quick stats for your device, browser and operating system.
Two useful measurements:
- Screen resolution — the width × height of your display, e.g.
1920 × 1080. - Screen size (inches) — the physical diagonal of your monitor, which browsers cannot read directly. See the section below on how to find it.
Screen Size vs Screen Resolution
People often use "screen size" and "screen resolution" interchangeably, but they are different:
- Screen size is the physical size of the display, measured diagonally in inches (e.g. 24" or 27").
- Screen resolution is how many pixels the display shows (e.g. 1920 × 1080). The same resolution can look different on a 24" and a 32" monitor.
Your browser's JavaScript only exposes the resolution and pixel ratio — it cannot detect the physical size of your monitor in inches, so desktop tools like this one can only estimate it.
How to Check Your Screen Size Manually
| Operating System | How to check resolution |
|---|---|
| Windows 10 / 11 | Right-click the desktop → Display settings → look under "Display resolution". |
| macOS | Apple menu → About This Mac → Displays. |
| Linux | Run xrandr in the terminal to see your current resolution. |
| Android / iPhone | Check your phone's settings under Display / About device. |
To find the physical monitor size in inches, measure the screen diagonally from corner to corner with a tape measure, or search for your monitor model number.
